Which room, and what have you got?
We answer within two days. Telling us the budget in the first message saves everybody a fortnight, and we have never once used it to price up.
Money, mostly
Which is the part everybody is too polite to ask about first.
Do you take commission from suppliers?
No, none. The trade discount goes to you in full and we show you every supplier invoice at cost. We earn only the fee on the services page.
Why should I tell you my budget?
Because the alternative is a fortnight of drawings for a room you cannot afford. We have never used a stated budget to price up, and the first hour exists precisely to answer whether the number works.
Will I get options to choose from?
You will get one scheme with the reasons written down. If it is wrong we would rather change it than hand you three and make you responsible for the judgement you hired us for.
Can you do just one room?
Yes, and about half of what we do is exactly that. One room in a house somebody already loves is a harder problem than a whole empty property, and a more interesting one.
What does a room typically cost?
Eight to twenty-five thousand US dollars for a living room including our fee, and that spread is real rather than a hedge. The journal has a full itemised breakdown of a real eight-thousand-dollar room.
